Tau Tauri (τ Tau) is a quadruple star system[10] in the constellation Taurus. The primary, Aa, is a class B3V[3] (blue main-sequence) star. Its apparent magnitude is 4.33[11] and it is approximately 400 light years away from Earth based on parallax.[1]

The primary is a spectroscopic binary with a period of 2.96 days and eccentricity 0.05; it also has a close companion, Ab, with magnitude 6.97 and separation 0.2" in a 58-year orbit.[12][10] The more distant component B is a type A1V star with magnitude 7.2 and separation 62.8".[10]
