Sharma's father died in 2011. "Losing my father was devastating and made me strongly believe that no one really goes away but loved ones are always with us through their wonderful legacy of work, friends and family. Daddy is always with us, in our hearts." she said.[2]
Soon after becoming a mother, inspired by her father's advice to always reinvent oneself and never stagnate Sharma conceptualized and started her own multi-platform show, The Tara Sharma Show.
