Tanuj Mahashabde (born 24 July 1974) is an Indian actor. who plays the role of a scientist, Mr. Krishnan Subramaniam Iyer (aka Iyer who is a south Indian) a rocket scientist in the comedy TV sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on SAB TV.[1] He is known for speaking Hindi in South Indian accent in the show.

Early life

Tanuj is from Dewas and during his college days he often acted in the street plays at Bhopal.[2]

Tanuj has pursued and completed Diploma in Marine Communication.[3]

Career

Tanuj was a writer of the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on SAB TV. During the shooting Dilip Joshi spotted him and Munmun Dutta together and suggested they act like husband-wife in the successful comedy series.[4]

In 2016, Tanuj was appreciated for reuniting an 18-year-old boy with his family, who was lost in Borivali by taking him promptly to the police station.[5]

On 26 March 2016 Tanuj along with Govinda (actor) attended the premiere of the Punjabi film Canada Di Flight at Mumbai.[6]
