Overview

This bi-weekly train was introduced to provide a quicker journey from New Delhi to Tamil Nadu. Southern Railway began operating the train on 19 September 2004[1]. The train links the southern part of Tamil Nadu with the national capital along with Thirukural Express.

Coach composition

Present coach composition comprises 2-SLR coaches, 4-II/General coaches, 3- AC 3 Tier Coaches, 1-AC 1st Cum AC 2 tier Coach, 1-Pantry and 8-Sleeper Coaches. During the summer extra coaches are provided based on need.
