"Take It On Up" was a hit song for Pockets which reached the top 40 on the R&B chart in the United States in 1978. It was the second hit for the group, who had previously charted with "Come Go With Me" in 1977.

Background

The song, co-composed by Verdine White, was the third single for the group,[1] which got to no 17 with their debut single "Come Go With Me" earlier that year. [2][3] It became the group's second hit on the R&B charts.[4]

The song spent 8 weeks on the R&B chart, peaking at No. 24.[5][6] It appears on the album Take It On Up, Columbia, JC35384.[7]
