TS-iPASS

TS-iPASS is the new fast track, industry policy of Government of Telangana. It is a single window clearance system for new investors in the state.[1][2] The industrial clearance system, given within 15 days of application is called, Telangana State Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-iPASS). This operates at three levels: very large projects, large industries and SMEs.[3]

History

The policy has come into effect on 2 June 2015 by incumbent minister, K. T. Rama Rao under Commissioner of Industries.[4] The bill, Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-iPASS) Act, 2014” (Act No.3 of 2014), was passed in Telangana Legislature.

The Policy

A single simplified Common Application Form (CAF) for all department approvals was created for applying for clearance.

The policy has helped the state in bagging top spot in the Ease of Doing Business rankings. By February 2018, the scheme has attracted more than Rs 1,20,000 crore investments into the State with potential to provide 3,00,000 direct jobs.
