Thimmanahalli Boraiah Jayachandra (29 July 1949)[1] is an Indian politician and former member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly[2] from the Indian National Congress.[3] He served as the Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs for Karnataka before losing his seat in 2018 assembly elections.[4]
Political career
Jayachandra was first elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1978.[8] He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly after winning from Sira during the 2013 election with 74,089 votes.[2]. He lost from Sira in the Karnataka assembly elections 2018 to JD(S) candidate B Satyanarayana.
A firm believer of astrology, Jayachandra, in 2017, called it "science" and not "blind belief", while adding that since astrologers had told him that he would live for 105 years, he would contest in two more State assembly elections.[9]
