Sylvan Adams (Hebrew: סילבן אדמס) is a businessman and Israeli-Canadian-Jewish billionaire.
His father was Marcel Adams, philanthropist and Holocaust survivor.
His major occupation is real estate business and his great hobby is bicycle riding.
In the end of 2015, he immigrated to Israel (made "Alia") and settled in Tel Aviv.
He donates money for many sports activities: In 2017 the first institute for sport's excellency in Israel was established in Tel Aviv University with his name.[1]
In May 2018, he established the first velodrome in Israel and the middle east with his support.[2]
He was the first to suggest the Giro d'Italia 2018 take place in Israel[3] and donated 80 million dollars for this purpose. The "Bonei Zion Prize" is given every year on his name by the organization "Nefesh be Nefesh".
He is also behind the first pro Israeli cycling team Israel Cycling Academy (ICA). [4] The team was founded in 2015 and is an UCI Pro Continental team.
In 2019 the first UCI race will take place in Israel. The race is financially backed by Adams and will include 5 stages. [5]
