Syed Jibran (born 14 October 1979, Jehlum) is a Pakistani actor and model.[1] He started his career with Pakistan Television Network. It wasn't long that some unforgettable stellar performances established him as one of the finest actors Pakistani Drama Industry [2] has ever produced.

Career

Stumbling into Showbiz

Year 2000 was the year that decided his fate to become an actor. During the 3rd year of his studies, one day a minor bet of Rs 100 led him to pursue for a chance in an acting stint on television. In the quest of winning that bet, he met many people, asking them to give him a chance to perform on television but was either politely refused or put on hold. Finally in 2001, after a good 8 months of rejections he was casted in a 2 scene role in a single play "Hook" for Pakistan Television Network Islamabad, helmed by the late Mr. Taufeeq Hussain Shah.

They say sometimes all you need is a single sign from the universe and everything falls into place. That single play landed him a lead role in a telefilm "Dada in Trouble" for Pakistan Television Network, written by the veteran Iqbal Hassan Khan and directed by Tariq Meraj, which changed the entire course of future for him. The telefilm was an instant hit and he became that new guy who came out of nowhere and became the talk of the town.

After that his mentor Tariq Meraj made sure that he worked on his shortcomings and improved his craft by working with him on many projects. It took him 2 years to make it to Lahore where he landed the role of Bond in the famous sitcom Jutt and Bond sitcom for Indus TV. After working for an entire year on that sitcom he took the next big and decisive step in 2004. He moved to Karachi.

Landmark performances

After taking a flying start in Karachi with Hum TV soaps Tum Mere Ho and Tere Jaanay ke baad, he never looked back. One after another he delivered good performances and kept improving his skills. Some of his most memorable performances were in Cousins, Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahe, Muhabbat Ab Na Hogee, Shuk, Chup Raho, Noor-e-Zindagee and Khuda Mera Bhi Hai.
