The song was a Top 5 hit on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts in early 1982, where it peaked at numbers 5[1] and 4,[2] respectively. The song also reached number 14 on the Canadian RPM 100, and number 15 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
