Biography

Susie was born in Bamberg, South Carolina as the daughter of Randall Jackson and Carrie Moyer. She grew up in the area and her family later came to Aiken, South Carolina. She married George James Davis and had several children with him, most of which died in infancy. After the death of her first husband she married William Robinson and had one child with him before his passing. Her third and last husband was Adam Brunson. She had 12 children.

In 1932 Susie moved to Long Island, New York to live with her daughter Mary McDaniel. She remained there until 1987 when she moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. At times she received heavy media attention thanks to her claiming to have been born in 1870. Susie Brunson died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina on 29 November 1994 at the claimed age of 123 years, 339 days,[1] although her actual age was likely 112 years, 35 days.
