Supply Chain Coordination Limited is a company set up by the Department of Health and Social Care in 2018 to manage the new NHS procurement model.[1] It will have more than 200 staff who will manage how the NHS buys common goods and equipment. Some will be transferred from the NHS Business Services Authority and NHS Supply Chain. It is hoped to achieve savings of £2.4 billion over the next 4–5 years.[2]

Ernst & Young were paid up to £20m to help set it up.[3]

Running costs for 2018-9 will be £180 million, but this is predicted to grow to £250 million in 2019-20 and to £260 million in 2020-21. This will be taken from the tariff payments to NHS trusts.[4]

Jim Spittle, former group supply chain director of Kingfisher plc has been appointed as its first independent non-executive chair.[5] Jin Sahota is the acting chief executive.

DXC Technology has a contract for delivering supporting technologies and IT infrastructure service to the new company.[6][7]
