Super Invader is a clone of Space Invaders written by Japanese programmer M. Hata for the Apple II and published by California Pacific Computer Company.[2] Debuting in November 1979, the game sold 20,000 copies by June 1982, tied for seventh on Computer Gaming World's list of top sellers.[1] It was voted the most popular program of 1978-1980 in a Softalk readers poll. The magazine described the game as the progenitor of the home arcade.[3]

Super Invader was later renamed to Cosmos Mission.[4]
