Sun Hongbin (Chinese: 孙宏斌; born 1963) is a Chinese billionaire real estate developer, and the founder and chairman of Sunac.
Early life
Sun was born in Shanxi province in 1963.[2]
Sun earned a master's degree from Tsinghua University in 1985, and later completed an advanced management program at Harvard Business School in 2000.[1][2]
Career
Sun is the chairman and majority shareholder of Sunac, the Chinese property group.[3]
In 1992, he was jailed in China following an embezzlement conviction which was later overturned.[3]
In October 2017 he was ordered to do "26 hours of re-education in corporate governance" after being censured for having broken the listing rules of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.[3]
Personal life
Sun has US citizenship, and lives in Tianjin, China.[1][2] He is married with two children.[2]
