Suki Potier

Melanie Susan Potier (14 November 1947 23 June 1981), better known as Suki Potier, was an English model.

She was born in Surrey,[1] the younger sister of Sarah Sally Romero Potier (born 12 February 1946). As a teenager, she modelled for many English designers.[1]

In 1966 Suki was dating the Guinness heir Tara Browne. On 17 December 1966, she was with him in his car when he was driving through South Kensington and collided with a parked truck. Tara died from his injuries the next day; Suki was not injured.[1] The Beatles song A Day in the Life is often held to be based on this incident.[2]

After living with Brian Jones, the Rolling Stones guitarist, she married the Hong Kong business man Robert Ho, eldest son of Stanley Ho, one of the wealthiest men in Macau.[3] She and her husband died in a car crash while on holiday in Portugal in 1981.[1][4]

The jeweller Sarah Ho is her daughter.[1][5]
