Suhair VP (born on 27 July 1992) is an Indian professional footballer from Palakkad, Kerala, India who plays as a striker for Gokulam Kerala FC.[1]

Early life

Suhair VP was born on 27 July 1992 in Palakkad, Kerala, India. Suhair is a product of United S.C. He started his career playing for Calicut University and local clubs in Kerala. He also represented the Indian state of Kerala in the National Games and the Santosh Trophy. Later he joined Kolkata outfit United SC and played in the Calcutta Football League.

Football career

Suhair started his career playing for Calicut University.[2] He represented Kerala in the National Games of India and the Santhosh trophy.[3] He is a product of United S C.[4]

In 2016 Suhair played for Kerala club Gokulam Kerala FC in the Kerala Premier League.He was a goal poacher for United SC in the Calcutta Football League.

East Bengal

His stellar performance[5] in 2016 season caught the eyes of maidan giants and as a result in december 2016 East Bengal[6] signed him for the next season.

Suhair had a memorable debut for East Bengal as he scored a hat trick in his very first match for the red and gold brigade against Rainbow AC.[7]He became fourth East Bengal player to score on debut after Ashim Moulick (1963), Shyam Thapa (1966), and Bikash Narzinary (2010).

The striker was poised to be a big part of eastbengal s plans after firing in 5 goals in as many matches in the clubs CFL triumph.[8][9] But things won't went as expected. He suffered an angle injury on the eve of East Bengal's season opener against Shillong [10].He ended the season with out playing a single match and the club released him.

Gokulam Kerala

In March 2018 suhair joined Gokulam Kerala F.C..[11]He made his debut in Gokulam's 2018 Indian Super Cup round of 16 match against Bengaluru Fc.[12]They lost the match 3-1 and knocked out of the competition.He scored 4 goals in the 2017−18 Kerala Premier League,and helped his side to clinch the silverware.[13]
