Sudhir Ramchandra Gupta' is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected as a member of Parliament from Mandsaur constituency in May 2014, defeating his closest opponent, Meenakshi Natarajan (Indian National Congress candidate) by 303,649 votes[PC NO. 23].[1]

Early life

Gupta was born and raised in Mandsaur. His father, Ramchandra Gupta, was a cloth merchant. Early on, he joined a nationalist organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He was an active member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.

Career

After completing his education, Gupta worked at the Cooperative Bank Mandsaur. He also worked as an LIC representative. As an office worker for Vishva Hindu Parishad,[2] he participated in the Ram Janmbhoomi Movement and was arrested in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.

Gupta has been associated with Akhil Bhartiya Vaishy Mahasammelan, the Chamber of Commerce, Mandsaur Judo Parishad, and the Bharat Vikas Parishad. He has worked as a Saraswati Shishu Mandir administrator.

Gupta has been nominated for membership on the Committee on Estimate, the Standing Committees of the Ministry of Commerce, and in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in the Government of India.
