Suad Salih

Suad Salih (Arabic: سعاد صالح) is an Egyptian compared fiqh professor at Al-Azhar University.

Biography

Salih campaigned in Egypt to allow women to serve as Mufti.[1]

In 2007, she issued fatwas on the case of Hend Farghali, an 11-year-old girl victim of rape forced to carry out her pregnancy,[2] · [3] which rocked the Egyptian public opinion. In March 2010, she opposed a bill to legalised abortion and sterilisation of women whose health or finances are incompatible with having children.[4]

In January 2016, on Al Hayat TV, she stated that Islamic law allows Muslims to rape non-Muslim female prisoners of war .[5]
