Strode College is a tertiary institution and further education college situated in Street, Somerset, England offering Sixth Form education as well as Higher Education courses.[2][3] In October 2014, the college was rated as Outstanding by Ofsted[4] and in June 2017, was awarded a Silver Award by the Teaching Excellence Framework.[5]

Performance

In 2017, the pass rate was 99% for A Levels (England average 98.1%) where 24% of entries gained high grades of A* and A (England average 26.3%), 57% gained high grades of A* to B (England average 52.8%) and 82% of subject entries were grade A*-C (England average 77.5%).[6] The pass rate for BTEC Extended Diplomas was 99% for Level 3 Diplomas and 100% for NVQ Level 3. 37% BTEC Extended Diploma students achieved top grades of D*D*D*, 59% BTEC Extended Diploma students achieved high grades of DDD or above and 82% BTEC Extended Diploma students achieved high grades of DMM or above.[7]

Facilities

Over £20 million has been invested in college facilities over the past ten years.. The most recent project completed in August 2011 was to extend the college sports hall to provide a specialist dance and exercise studio.[1] Strode Theatre is on the college campus and provides rehearsal and drama space for students from the college.[8]
