Strange and Beautiful is the third studio album from progressive metal band Crimson Glory. Initially released in 1991, it was the first album without guitarist Ben Jackson and drummer Dana Burnell, and the last with vocalist Midnight. The record was also their first, and last, for new label, Atlantic Records. Two songs were co-written by Marcy Rauer Wagman,[2] an Associate Professor and former Program Director of the B.S. in Music Industry major at Drexel University while the first single "The Chant" was written by outside songwriters Brian McKinley & Marti Frederiksen. The band went on hiatus following the supporting tour during which future Michael Schenker Group frontman David Van Landing replaced Midnight. Although this was the only Crimson Glory album with drummer Ravi Jakhotia, it marked the first of three projects that he played in with guitarist Jon Drenning and bassist Jeff Lords as a quartet; they later formed the bands Crush and Erotic Liquid respectively with vocalists Billy Martinez and David Van Landing, releasing two self-titled albums as Crush and one as ELC.[3][4]
