Stjepan Lončar (Bosnian pronunciation: [stjêpaːn lǒntʃaːr]; born 10 November 1996) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for 1. HNL club Rijeka and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Club career

Early career

Lončar is a youth product of Široki Brijeg, whose academy he joined at the age of 7.[2] He debuted professionally in a league game against Vitez on 24 July 2016.[3] It took him over a year, until 20 September 2017, to score his first professional goal, in a cup game against Radnik Bijeljina.[4]

Rijeka

In June 2018, Lončar signed a three-year deal with Croatian side Rijeka, with two optional seasons.[5] He made his competitive debut for the club in a convincing victory over Inter Zaprešić on 3 August.[6]

International career

Lončar represented Bosnia and Herzegovina on various youth levels throughout the years.[7]

He got first senior call-up for friendly games against United States and Mexico in January 2018.[8] He debuted in a 0–1 defeat against Mexico on 31 January.[9]
