Steven Epstein (music producer)

Steven Epstein is an American record producer.

Epstein graduated from Hofstra University in 1973. He has worked with Yo-Yo Ma, Wynton Marsalis, Plácido Domingo, Isaac Stern, Itzhak Perlman, Murray Perahia, Emanuel Ax, Bobby McFerrin, Juilliard String Quartet, Tokyo String Quartet, Fine Arts Quartet, and Punch Brothers. He has worked with the Vienna, Berlin and New York Philharmonic Orchestras, and with the Chicago, Cleveland, London, Concertgebouw, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles Symphony Orchestras.[1][2]

Epstein was senior executive producer of Sony Classical[2] and produces and engineers independently. He has won over fifteen Grammy Awards, inlcuding Classical Producer of the Year[3] and 1 for Classical Album of the Year.[4]

He has taught Classical Music Recording at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.[5]
