Steve Brown (musician)
Steve Brown (born Stephen Charles Brown, Rockville Centre, New York, 1942, but grew up in Freeport, New York) is a jazz guitarist, composer, arranger, and educator. He was the Director of Jazz Studies at Ithaca College, a position he held for 40 years until his retirement in 2008.
Brown has played with Jimmy Smith, Paquito D'Rivera, Chuck Mangione, Phil Woods, and Ray Charles. He was a member of Chuck Israels' National Jazz Ensemble and toured the United States and Europe.
He married Barbara Diane Katz on July 11, 1976, Jamesburgh, New York.[1]
