Stephen Watson (born 21 September 1966) is a British entrepreneur and adviser on leadership and communications.[1][2] He was part of David Cameron's successful leadership election team in 2005,[3] and is known for chairing the British-German Association[4] and Tusk Trust,[5] Prince William's African wildlife charity.[6]

Business

Watson is CEO of CTN Communications,[7] the agency that produced the 39th G8 summit.[8] He advises political and corporate leaders on their communications strategies and reputations.[9] Prior to founding CTN in 1992, he was a managing director at Burson-Marsteller and a Producer at BBC News.[10]

Politics

Watson was part of David Cameron's successful leadership election team in 2005.[3] That same year, he stood as a Conservative Parliamentary candidate in Caerphilly.[11] Watson is also Chairman of the British-German Association,[12] and speaks vocally about Britain's place in Europe.[13]

Military

Watson serves as an Honorary Officer in the Royal Naval Reserve (appointed Commander 2013; promoted Captain 2015)[14] and is a trustee of the RNRMC.[15] He is also a Member of the Royal Marines Advisory Group, and chairs a Communications Advisory Group for the First Sea Lord.[16]

Philanthropy

Watson is chairman at Tusk Trust,[17] of which Prince William is a Patron.[18][19]

Awards

In 2015, Watson was awarded the German Order of Merit from the Federal President[20][21] and, in 2016, was invested a Knight of the Habsburg-Lothringen Order of St. Georg.[22]

Personal life

Watson lives in London and is married to Emma with two children.[23]
