Steffan Tubbs

Steffan Tubbs was a radio host on Denver, Colorado's KOA. He was the host of Colorado's Morning News and has been a longtime presence on KOA having begun his radio career at the station in 1994. His voice was a continued presence during a six-year career with ABC News; he was a national radio anchor for the service on the evening of September 11, 2001. He returned to the Denver market after reporting and anchoring for WNYW Fox5-TV, the Fox affiliate in New York City.[1]

Tubbs has traveled twice to Iraq (2006 and 2010) and accompanied World War II veterans to Iwo Jima in March 2010, and March 2012.

He is the author of Life, Liberty & Resilience - a look at a segregated World War II veteran from rural Mississippi. Tubbs' latest film effort is Droughtland - www.droughtland.com - it focuses on the severe southeastern Colorado drought. It had its world premiere November 8, 2014 at a sold-out Lincoln Theatre in Limon, Colorado. The trailer is available on-line and available for purchase on DVD/Blu-Ray for $20.

Tubbs is also the co-founder of Little Feet, an organization that sends soccer balls to underprivileged children throughout the world.

An avid baseball fan, in April 2007 Tubbs happened to catch Troy Tulowitzki's unassisted triple-play ball. Rockies first baseman Todd Helton threw the ball in the stands and it landed in Steffan’s glove. The ball was later given back to the rookie shortstop.

Tubbs received his undergraduate degree in Journalism at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and received his Masters with the external Master of Arts in Humanities program at California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2010.

TV viewers can see him on PBS affiliate KBDI in Denver and across Colorado.

He is a San Diego native.

Tubbs was arrested on July 30, 2017 in Denver on a charge of domestic violence, disturbance via phone. KOA radio severed ties with Tubbs on August 10, 2017.

Tubbs is now a radio talkshow host from 4-7 pm on 710 Knus Denver, CO, the voice of the people.
