Staunton Mall is a shopping mall in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. It is slightly outside the city limits of Staunton, Virginia. It has 3 anchors in operation, including Belk, JCPenney, and Gold's Gym (previously Sears Surplus, Goody's Family Clothing), with former anchors including Peebles, Books-A-Million, and Steve & Barry's.

History

Staunton Mall was originally constructed in 1968 as Staunton Plaza, an open-air shopping center featuring Safeway Inc., JCPenney, and Montgomery Ward. It was later enclosed.[2] During the mid-1990s, the mall saw a renewal as it received a facelift, and many new stores. The mall was purchased by Colonial Properties Trust in the late 1990s and renamed Colonial Mall-Staunton. The mall was sold again in 2007, to First Republic Group Realty, which returned the mall's name to Staunton Mall. It was sold again Kohan Retail Investment Group,[3][4] and in 2014 to Staunton Mall LLC.[5]

The mall is also home to a 6-screen cinema.[6]
