Status Labs is a reputation management company.[1] Its co-founders ran a public relations company, Wiki-PR, which was banned from editing Wikipedia.[1] In 2014, concerns were raised that an employee offered pay to a freelance journalist to write an article about a client.[1][2] In 2015, Status Labs co-founder Jordan French reportedly resigned as CEO after being blamed in part for the demolition of a piñata store and in 2017 was granted an injunction against cofounders Darius Fisher and Jesse Boskoff for committing fraud and theft.[3][4] In 2018, Fisher and Boskoff were held in contempt of court for violating a federal injuction, returning $140,000 during a court recess to avoid incarceration.[4] The company provided support for Melissa Click for the issues that occurred during the 2015–16 University of Missouri protests.[5]
