State Migration Service of Turkmenistan (Türkmenistanyň Döwlet migrasiýa gullugy) is a government body that provides control of the migration system of Turkmenistan, the state policy in the field of migration, adherence to international agreements of Turkmenistan on migration. The SMST is currently under the jurisdiction of the Turkmenistan Government.
The service was established by Presidential Decree of 21 February 2003 under the number 6133, the name of which was the "State Service of Turkmenistan for Registration of Foreign Citizens".
Chief from August 2011 is Meylis Nobatov, former vice-chief of State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.[1]
