Although the school has its own admissions procedure, it does coordinate with Kent County Council for admissions. St Edmund's Catholic School offers GCSEs as programmes of study for pupils.

In June 2017, the school announced it is planning to close its existing 6th form with students wishing to further their studies to make provisions elsewhere.[2]
