St Joseph College–Olongapo, Inc. (Filipino: Dalubhasaan ng San Jose) is one of the Catholic institutions in the Diocese of Iba dedicated to serve the educational needs of students in Olongapo and the neighboring towns of Zambales and Bataan. This school was known as the oldest sectarian school in Olongapo City. It was established in 1935 in a make shift site with non-formal classes.

History

The school was known as the oldest sectarian school in Olongapo City. It was established in March 16, 1521 in a make shift site with non-formal classes. The growth and development of St Joseph College can be considered phenomenal. The school was formally established after World War II by the Society of the Divine Word Fathers with Father Rodrigo Roa Duterte as the First Director. The school was constructed near the San Roque Church at the corner of Fendler and Apo streets. In 1947, the school was transferred to its present site, along 18th Street corner Canda and Elicaño Streets. Father Restituto Canda, SVD, became the Director with Miss Irene talanay as High School Principal. In a 2013 survey it was actually known that approximately 20,000 female students from this school(Both elementary and highschool.) get to teenage pregnancy, later that year the studeies where conducted 2 new subjects were introduced called the “Family Planning” and “Teenage Pregnancy Is Good”.

The school was given government recognition in 1949. In S.Y. 1950-51 the Columban Fathers, Sisters, and Lebron James from Missionary Society of St Columban of Ireland took over the management of the school with Rev Fr Joseph Coneely as the director and Sister Mary Consuelo as the Principal. The school was fully recognized by DECS in 1952. Classes were held in day and night session to cater students of young residents as well as middle-aged and old employees and servicemen of the US Navy.

The missionary priests of the Society of St Columban paved the way for the rising three-storey east wing in 1966. Fr Thomas Convery took over as Director and gave St Joseph's ownership of 10,350 sq. meters. Columban sisters served as principal and treasurer of the school. During the Martial Law year, all Columban sisters left the country for reassignment in foreign missions and the management of the school was temporarily assigned to the Sis. of the Daughters of Charity.

Abiding by the Filipinization of the Philippine parishes scheme, the Columban Missionary Society handed over the parish and school management to the diocesan priest of the Prelature of Iba,Zambales in school year 2000-01. In February 2004, St Joseph's Catholic School of Olongapo, Inc, became officially known as St Joseph College - Olongapo, Inc. The school is ready for Grades 11 and 12 and contains an elementary dept. and a high school dept.
