Tarela Henry Ekaye...[1][2] also known as Squeeze Tarela is a Nigerian reggae/dancehall, Afro fusion artiste and a songwriter.[3][4] Squeeze Tarela is nicknamed Record Killa[5] and Don Uber Fresh.[3]

He recently signed to independent U.K label JustJoJo Entertainment.[1][6][4]

Early life

Tarela Henry Ekaye who hails from Delta State, Nigeria and was born in Lagos, Nigeria. Squeeze Tarela had his primary education at Command Children School Military Cantonment, Ojo, Lagos State. His secondary education was at the Federal Staff Secondary School in Benin, and he graduated from the University of Benin where he studied Geology and obtained a BSc.[2][1][4]

Music career

Tarela began his musical career in 2007 when he participated in the Glo campus tour where he came second.[7][2] In 2010, he joined Rayconnex and then later joined Blackdutch.[2][4]

Squeeze Tarela inked a record and distribution deal with United Kingdom-based entertainment company JustJojo Entertainment in 2017. Tarela released his first official single under the imprint, titled "Bend"[8] produced by JayPaulBeatz. Shortly afterwards, he released a single titled "Uber Fresh".[9][4] Tarela released his second official single titled "Hottest Thing" in July 2017.[10][11][12] The track charted for seven weeks on the UK Urban Club Charts, making a debut at the 24th position; it peaked at the 13th position.[13] Squeeze Tarela released his latest single titled "Better"[14][15][16][17] 24 November 2017. The song was number 52 on the Nigeria Billboard Singles Chart the week of December 15, 2017.[18] In May 2018, Squeeze Tarela released his latest single called Cocoa Butter[19]
