Sprotbrough is a large village in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. Together with Cusworth it forms the civil parish of Sprotbrough and Cusworth (sometimes Sprotbrough with Cusworth). It meets Bentley village on St Mary's Roundabout near St George's Minster. HMP Doncaster is nearby.

The place-name 'Sprotbrough' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Sproteburg. The name is thought to mean 'Sprot's borough'.[1]
