Springfield Browns
The Springfield Browns were a Class B minor league baseball team in Springfield, Illinois. The Browns were members of the Illinois–Indiana–Iowa League from 1938–1942 and 1946–1949. Springfield was an affiliate of the St. Louis Browns.[1]
The Ballpark
The Browns played at Lanphier Park, at the intersection of Converse and Grand Avenues and 15th Street. The park had a capacity of 4,500.[2]
