The company developed a solution to assist people who struggle with food intolerance, allergies or specific dietary needs when food-shopping or finding food choices and has developed a mobile application to serve the purpose. The Spoon Guru App can scan the barcode of food products when shopping in grocery stores. Taking into account the details from the user profile, and product information, the app recommends if the product is suitable for the user.[7][8][9][10][11]

Founders and key persons

Markus Stripf co-founded Spoon Guru Limited with Tim Allen and Simon O’Regan in 2015.[1] The idea for Spoon Guru came about from personal circumstances; the struggle to find the right foods for Markus’ wife, who developed multiple food allergies. Andy Clarke is the non-executive chairman of Spoon Guru Limited. He was appointed in November, 2017. Andy was the former CEO of Asda.[19][20][1]
