Spirit Circle (スピリットサークル, Supiritto Sākuru) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Satoshi Mizukami. The series was originally published in the May 2012 issue of the Young King OURs magazine. The manga ended his run on March 30, 2016. The manga received a digital simulpub release by Crunchyroll Manga and Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series for printed release with the first volume set for publishing on October 10, 2017.[1]

Plot

Fuuta Okeya is a high school student who can see ghosts and has a strange mark on his cheek, that he hides. When in the class arrives a new student, Kouko Ishigami, with a scar on her forehead and accompanied by a ghost named East his tranquillity ends: after a failed attempt by Fuuta to make friend and after she sees his mark, Kouko declares hate and to be his enemy, attacking him with a mysterious spiritual circle made of flames. The hostilities between the two date back to their reincarnation and Fuuta will have to discover his past and his links with Koko, East, and Rune, the spirit of a girl that suddenly appears.

Characters

Fuuta Okeya (桶屋 風太, Okeya Fūta)
The protagonist of the story, a fourteen-year-old with the ability to see and communicate with ghosts.
Kouko Ishigami (石神 鉱子, Ishigami Kōko)
Futa's deadly enemy. She recovered her past life's memory after a car accident that left a scar on her forehead.

Reception

The manga was nominated for the 48th Seiun Award in the comic category in 2017.[2]
