Spider-Geddon is a comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics featuring characters from the Spider-Man comics.[1] In this sequel to Spider-Verse, the Inheritors have found a way out of the decimated world they were imprisoned on and are now planning revenge on the Spider-Army while planning to feed on them again.[2]

Plot

Edge of Spider-Geddon

On Earth-138, Spider-Punk (who is starting to call himself Spider-Man) takes down Thunderstrike. When Spider-Punk races to Eric Masters to carry a message to Red Skull about taking the Bowery, Eric is then reduced to a skeleton by Kang the Conglomerator who claims that he has the rights to his name in the future for his company KangCo. When Spider-Punk goes on the attack, Kang summons some Spider-Punk dolls to assist him. After fighting them, Spider-Punk gets away from them and asks for a tape from Captain Anarchy who is busy fighting the Annihilation Wave when they emerged in Harlem from the Negative Zone. When the Spider-Punk dolls catch up, they get into a fight with the Annihilation Wave where one of them eats the tape that Captain Anarchy was going to give to Spider-Punk. After getting the tape out of the insectoid's mouth, Spider-Punk is surprised when Kang catches up to him. As Captain Anarchy holds Kang off, Spider-Punk swings away. Meeting up with Robbie Banner, Hobie tries to convince him to help while reminding him of how he helped in battles against the U-Foes, the Universal Church of Truth, and Hydra. When Kang catches up again, Robbie plays the tape and becomes the Hulk to attack Kang. When Kang is defeated, he states that Captain Anarchy is not marketable and died old while Hobie died young. After Kang disappears with Hulk confused on what Kang meant, Spider-Girl shows up and states that something big is coming, and Spider-Punk agrees to go with her.[3]

On Earth-14512, Peni Parker meets a new student named Addy Brock, but the former immediately takes her leave once the latter starts to talk about rumors that she's the pilot of SP//dr and talks about her late parents in a bad light. Arriving home, Peni asks her Aunt May and Uncle Ben if she is special, to which they state that she is the only one capable of piloting SP//dr. While working on the SP//dr armor with May, Peni discovers that Addy has volunteered to pilot the newly built Ven#m armor, which will serve as a backup if SP//dr fails. When a threat arises, Peni heads to her armor and goes to fight a monstrous energy vampire called M.O.R.B.I.U.S., which is draining the city's power supply. SP//dr works to keep herself from being drained of its energy, but ultimately fails to stop M.O.R.B.I.U.S. from doing so, causing Ven#m to be dispatched. When Addy is instructed not to kill M.O.R.B.I.U.S., Ven#m doesn't respond to her orders as the vampiric monster's electrical charge has overloaded Ven#m's Sym Engine. May flies out to the Ven#m armor to shut it down manually, where she discovers that the armor has developed a mind of its own and started to consume Addy. After rerouting power to the SP//dr, Peni fights Ven#m as she tries to reach May and Addy, only for Ven#m to state that they are one. Though SP//dr uses a web trap on Ven#m, she doesn't find May or Addy inside. Hours later, Ben visits Peni and states that what happened to May and Addy wasn't her fault. A portal opens as Spider-Ham requests Peni's help. Ben convinces her to go as duty calls.[4]

On an unnamed Earth, Uncle Ben tells a bartender of Stacy's bar named George the story about his origin after stopping a mugger. Peter Parker has been operating as Spider-Man and lives with his Uncle Ben and a hispanic version of Aunt May in a Hispanic neighborhood. When Ben has been shot by a mugger, a blood transfusion from his nephew game him spider powers as well. After working on the roof, he changes into his superhero attire to help Spider-Man fight Wrecker who turned out to be protecting his neighborhood where Spider-Man claims that he was toppling buildings. The two of them decide on what they should be called as they fight Mysterio and some ostrich criminals. In another instance, Uncle Ben emerged from a grave and beats up Kraven the Hunter. After hearing from Uncle Ben that Kraven the Hunter to take his mantle, Peter is advised to give up being Spider-Man to keep Aunt May safe. Though Peter suggests getting Kraven the Hunter to a hospital. Later at home, Peter tells Uncle Ben that he and Aunt May lost him once and don't want to lose him again. After the story is over, George offers Uncle Ben the offer to sleep in the back of his bar tonight. When George states it isn't his job to be Spider-Man forever, Uncle Ben comments that nobody know how long one has in their life and that he will sleep when he is dead as he looks at his phone's picture of him and Peter labeled "Jimster & T-Bird."[5]

On an unnamed Earth, a Kobold-armored Harry Osborn arrives at Oscorp and makes his way through the building. The narration is in the form of a letter to Harry from Peter Parker on what is happening at Oscorp. As a six-armed Norman Osborn is informed of Harry moving through Oscorp and having been secretly armed, he is told that Harry is on the 15th floor near Mr. Warren's lab. Becoming Spider-Man and arriving where a warped Cosmic Cube is located, Norman confronts Harry who dons the Kobold armor. It was revealed during the fight that Norman killed Peter Parker as Harry fires a laser beam at the warped Cosmic Cube. As Oscorp starts to disintegrate, Norman is pleased that Harry finally gave him what he wanted. Just then, Spider-Punk arrives and saves Norman much to his dismay.[6]

Main plot

On Earth-1048, Spider-Man is listening to J. Jonah Jameson's podcast called "Just the Facts" where he talks about Mayor Norman Osborn resigning, a power struggle to replace Kingpin, Nazis made of bees, and a claim that this is all Spider-Man's fault. Spider-Man is contacted by Mary Jane Watson who states that a criminal is tearing up a bank in the Financial District and has a spider symbol on him. He arrives at the Financial District where he discovers that Tarantula is responsible. Spider-Man defeats Tarantula with a web bomb. Just then, Spider-Man is visited by Superior Spider-Man of Earth-616 who tries to get him to hear him out. Tarantula gets free as Superior Spider-Man gets in the way of the web bomb enabling Tarantula to get away. As Superior Spider-Man uses the dissolving solution in his arms, the two of them get to a place to talk privately. Spider-Man of Earth-1048 hears about the Inheritors and reveals that he is Doctor Octopus. After learning about Earth-1048's Doctor Octopus, Superior Spider-Man is told by Spider-Man of Earth-1048 that he still has to catch Tarantula who is now attacking a research facility. Superior Spider-Man agrees to help stop Tarantula first. After both Spider-Men defeat Tarantula with Superior Spider-Man's Spider-Bots disabling Tarantula's mechanical spider arms, Superior Spider-Man gets a glimpse of Earth-1048's Doctor Octopus as Spider-Man of Earth-1048 gets his affairs with his Miles Morales and Mary Jane Watson out of the way. The two of them then leave to prepare for what Spider-Man of Earth-1048 calls "Spider-Geddon." Seven months ago, Spider-Punk, Pavitr Prabhakar, and Karn as the Master Weaver have been keeping a surveillance on the Inheritors as they send a Spider-Bot to Earth-3145 to check up on the Inheritors. The robot goes into the bunker and is attacked by Daemos as Pavitr considers Spider-Punk the worst Spider-Man. Spider-Girl and Pavitr send Spider-Bot #35 to Earth-3145 where they find that Daemos has lost some weight. Spider-Bot #52 is dispatched by Pavitr and Spider-UK where they find that the Inheritors are getting malnourished. Jennix states that the spiders are their jailers and that the Inheritors aren't flies. As the Inheritors have piled up the various Spider-Bots unbeknownst to the Spider-Men and the Master Weaver, Jennix states that they now have the resources that their jailers have unknowingly provided them with.[7]

In New York City, Spider-Man (Miles Morales) is fighting the Vulturions. Two of the Vulturions are defeated while another one pulled out a .50 Calibur to threaten the people who are grilling nearby if he doesn't let him go. After Miles did a trick that enabled him to web up the remaining Vulturion, a portal opens up as Miles tells the people to get inside. He is confronted by Spider-UK, Spider-Woman of Earth-928, Spider-Woman of Earth-65, Doctor Octopus (Octavia Octo) of Earth-1104, Spider-Ham, Spider-Punk, and Spider-Man Noir. Miles is told by Spider-Woman of Earth-65 that someone is using the Inheritors' cloning technology that might play a part in the Inheritors' return. In San Francisco, Count Nefaria is engaging Superior Octopus who counters his ionic abilities by having his tentacles charged with energy that disrupts ionic fields. Count Nefaria breaks free from the tentacles as Superior Octopus plans to threaten his mother Vitto Nefaria and his relatives Giuseppe Nefaria and Paolo Nefaria who he is spying on with his Octobots. Count Nefaria takes his leave and vows to return when Superior Octopus' role as San Francisco's protector destroys him. Superior Octopus laments in his base at Auto Empire that he has cloned bodies that can help him evade death. Outside, the Web Warriors arrive as Miles and Spider-Woman of Earth-65 learn why they couldn't bring Spider-Man as Miles also mentions that Jessica Drew is tending to her baby. The Web Warriors make their way into the hidden entrance and past the traps in order to confront Superior Octopus. Upon finding the cloning banks, the group is attacked by Superior Octopus. Miles and Spider-Woman of Earth-65 inform him of Karn's discovery of the Inheritors hacking the cloning bank to which Superior Octopus claims that Karn has lied to them since the cloning bank only contains his DNA. In addition, he claims that they should've slain the Inheritors for good when they had the chance. While the Web Warriors fight Superior Octopus, Octavia Otto finds that the Inheritors have used the cloning technology against Superior Octopus as she sees the alert for an uncontrolled cell mutation. Superior Octopus realizes that they are right as Spider-Man Noir works to destroy the tubes. Morlun emerges and grabs Spider-Man Noir who shoots the canister on Morlun. It doesn't work as Morlun drains the lifeforce out of Spider-Man Noir. Octavia works to free the other Web Warriors from the ink spray as Spider-UK and Superior Octopus fight Morlun. Verna emerges and snaps Spider-UK's neck to protect Morlun. She then eyes Superior Octopus as Jennix attacks him. While stating to Verna to not be greedy, Jennix states that Superior Octopus is not a totem. As Morlun states that he has a personal score to settle, Jennix states to Morlun that his score with the Earth-616 version of Spider-Man is irrelevant. Verna tells Jennix to let Morlun has his fun as the rest of the Web Warriors are hors d'oeuvres to them right now. Once they are done seeing to the rest of the family, they will turn Earth-616 into their new homeworld. Superior Octopus is left saying "What have I done..."[8]

Subplot

Superior Octopus

In San Francisco, California, a bus load of people is attacked by Night Shift members Dansen Macabre, Digger, Brothers Grimm, Skein and Waxman who rob them of their valuables and their clothes. Their robbery is interrupted by Superior Octopus who uses a sonic attack used for Symbiotes on Waxman, had his outfit rendered immune to Skein's abilities, had his goggles tune out Dansen's hypnotic dance, and easily took down the Brothers Grimm. Superior Octopus agrees to spare them more pain in exchange that the Night Shift becomes his agents where he will compensate them from his own funds. They agree to the terms and are ordered to return the stolen items. Superior Octopus leaves advising them never to cross him or they won't live long enough to regret it. At his hideout at the abandoned Auto Empire, Superior Octopus stated that he could've created an army of Octobots to scout the city if he wanted to. He even references how San Francisco had been protected by Daredevil, Goliath, the original Spider-Woman, and now the current West Coast Avengers. He even assessed the threat levels of Count Nefaria, Graviton, and Master Pandemonium. At Horizon University, Superior Octopus in the alias of Dr. Elliot Tolliver meets with Professor Anna Maria Marconi who claims that she might've met Elliot before. While in his lab, Elliot punches the computer as Max Modell came to investigate the sound from his lab. Elliot states that he miscalibrated the prosthetic's power settings and that he is near a breakthrough. Later in the cafeteria, Elliot's inner monologue states that she can't make up for his crimes against Anna Maria who is nearby having watched footage of Superior Octopus' fight with the Night Shift. Later that night at the Bay Bridge, Superior Octopus saves some people and some cars from falling off it. When asked by a firefighter if he had anything to do with Doctor Octopus, Superior Octopus stated that Doctor Octopus is dead and that he was inspired by the brilliant design of his metal arms. In addition, Superior Octopus covered up his previous involvement with Hydra's Avengers by stating that he was mind-controlled by Doctor Faustus. Returning to his lair while thinking of improving himself, Superior Octopus finds Arnim Zola and some Hydra agents present where they would like him to help rebuild Hydra. When Superior Octopus states that he upheld his bargain with Hydra, Arnim Zola states that one "leaves" Hydra when he dies. Upon taking down the Hydra agents, Superior Octopus is then attacked by a bio-duplicate of Gorgon. When Gorgon's blindfold falls off, Superior Octopus is turned to stone by his petrifying stare. Under Arnim Zola's orders, the bio-duplicate of Gorgon shatters the petrified Superior Octopus. Just then, the bio-duplicate of Gorgon is beheaded by Superior Octopus who revealed that Arnim Zola is not the only one who is an expert at cloning. After dismantling Arnim Zola, Superior Octopus has him carry a message to the rest of Hydra stating that he rejects their offer and that anyone who comes after him will receive similar "treatment." Superior Octopus' inner monologue revealed that he perfected Miles Warren's cloning technology where each clone had to be made from the deceased in order to maintain their memories as a way to conquer death. On Earth-001, Pavitr Prabhakar, Spider-Ham, Spider-UK, and Karn as the Master Weaver were able to return every piece of a world that the Inheritors stole back to their worlds bringing an end to Loomworld. When Spider-Ham asks where Spider-Punk is, he is shown on his world of Earth-138 fighting Thunderstrike. Spider-UK talks to Master Weaver on how the other spider-based heroes have a world to go to while he lost his world during the Incursions as they both consider each other greatest friends. The two of them get alerted to an Inheritor Cloning Engine on Earth-616. The two of them figure out what is happening. On Earth-3145, Jennix has put the Spider-Bot heads to good use by harvesting their transmitters. As they are unable to send a kill signal to the Inheritor Cloning Engine, Spider-UK advises Master Weaver to call the Web Warriors. As Master Weaver states that nobody can fight the Inheritors and win, Spider-UK states that they'll die trying to keep another world from being destroyed.[9]
