Sphrageidus xanthorrhoea is a moth of the Erebidae family.[1] It is found in India, Sri Lanka.[2] Java, Indonesia. It was once classified under Euproctis, where it is accepted nowadays in some countries.[3]
Caterpillar is known to feeds on agricultural crops like Gossypium, Helianthus annuus, Lagerstroemia indica, Oryza sativa, Panicum maximum, Pennisetum americanum, Phaseolus lunatus, Ricinus communis, Saccharum officinarum, Sorghum bicolor, Vigna unguiculata,[4] Andropogon sorghum, Tamarix dioica, Cajanus cajan, Eleusine coracana and Coffea.[5]
