Peace and Noise is the seventh studio album by Patti Smith, released September 30, 1997 on Arista Records. Uncut magazine ranked the album 21st best of the year.[11] Song "1959" was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance in 1998.[12]
