The Southern Vipers is an English women's Twenty20 cricket team based in Southampton, Hampshire that competes in England women's Twenty20 competition, the Women's Cricket Super League.[1] The Vipers wear an orange uniform and play their home matches at the Ageas Bowl.
This cricket team is not connected with Southern Vipers floorball hockey club which started in the 1990s and trains in Farnborough.
They are currently captained by former England captain Charlotte Edwards and coached by Nick Denning.[2][3]
The Vipers won the inaugural Women's Cricket Super League, winning all but one of their group games, and then defeating Western Storm in the inaugural final day held at Chelmsford by 7 wickets on 21 August. Suzie Bates was named player of the tournament.
