South Portsmouth–South Shore is a train station in South Shore, Kentucky, served by Amtrak, the United States' national passenger rail service. Originally located in the unincorporated community of South Portsmouth prior to construction of the Carl Perkins Bridge, it began as a flag stop in June 1976.[2] The station is currently located at Main Street and US 23 in the city of South Shore. In addition to South Shore/South Portsmouth areas, the station also serves the city of Portsmouth, Ohio, which is located directly across the Ohio River. The station serves Amtrak's Cardinal, trains 50 and 51 and is an unstaffed shelter only. The tracks are owned by CSX Transportation and were once owned by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway.
