South Central College

South Central College (SCC) is a two-year comprehensive community and technical college located in southern Minnesota (campuses in Faribault and North Mankato).

Formerly South Central Technical College, the college revised its mission from a technical college to that of a broader, comprehensive community college in 2005, receiving approval from the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Board of Trustees on March 16, 2005. Over 50 programs are offered as certificates, diplomas, Associate of Applied Science (AAS), or Associate of Science (AS) degrees. With the mission change, SCC offers an Associate of Arts (AA) degree that students use as the first two years of their four-year education.

South Central College has a growing online presence and offers fully accredited courses/majors that are taught by the college’s qualified faculty. South Central College emphasizes globalization and integrates an international perspective into the curriculum.

Be sure to visit Explore Minnesota for free maps and resources about the area[5]. Explore Minneopa State Park, Minnesota's third oldest state park, is nearby and home to a small herd of American Bison introduced in 2015[6]. Minneopa State Park is a great place to visit just a couple miles west of Mankato. Hiking trails, restrooms, campgrounds, and so much more to see. Click Here for Minneopa State Park Map. Another waterfall close by is Minnemishinona Falls[7], part of the Nicollet County Parks & Trails system. Travel to the Faribault campus along Minnesota State Highway 60 and visit one of the many lakes just a short drive away that provide excellent angling opportunities year round.
