The South Bay (Chinese: 南灣; pinyin: Nánwān), also called Nanwan or Blue Bay is a beach in Hengchun Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan.[1] The beach is part of Kenting National Park.[2]

History

The beach used to be a whaling area during the Japanese rule.

Geography

The beach is currently a fishing village with white sands with a length of around 600 meters.[3]

Facilities

The area around the beach provides facilities such as changing rooms, toilets, rental and sale of swimming equipment, restaurants and parking. Common activities at the beach and its surrounding areas are swimming, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving etc.

Transportation

The beach is accessible by bus from Xinzuoying Station or Kaohsiung Station of Taiwan Railways Administration.
