Sotiris 'Sotos' Nikolaidis (Greek: Σωτήρης Νικολαΐδης; born May 25, 1974) in Thessaloniki is a retired Greek professional basketball player.

Professional career

Nikolaidis started his career from X.A.N. Thessaloniki B.C. In 1995 he transferred to PAOK, and he played five years. He took part in 1995–96 FIBA European Cup. Moreover, Nikolaidis won the Greek Basketball Cup in 1999. In 2000, he moved to Maroussi B.C. and he won the 2000–01 FIBA Saporta Cup. Nikolaidis was the hero of the final when he scored the game's two winning points, with free throws 15 seconds before the end of the game. He also played with Iraklis Thessaloniki B.C., AEK B.C. and Rethymno Cretan Kings B.C. at theGreek Basketball League. Nikolaidis end his career playing in minor leagues with Ilysiakos B.C. and Apollon Patras B.C., finished his career with X.A.N. Thessaloniki B.C. [1][2]

Greek national team

Nikolaidis had one cap with the Greece national basketball team, playing against Belgium for the FIBA EuroBasket 1999 qualification. He also won the silver game at the FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship.
