Sophie Jodoin (born, 1965) is a Montreal-based visual artist. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1988 in Visual Arts from Concordia University in Montreal. She has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.[1] In Jodoin's drawing, there is no objective figure and that gives people a feeling that there is no narration. One exception of her work that contains some didactic intent is "Yesterday and Tomorrow", which is consist of a series of drawings.[2] Those pictures showed a young girl wearing a white silk dress walked through a corridor.

Work

Jodoin is known chiefly for her figurative, drawing-based practice in traditional media as well as college, video, and altered found objects.[3] She has worked almost exclusively in black-and-white since 2004, and first showed works integrating drawing and collage in 2009,[4] sourcing images from magazines, the Internet, personal photos and books.[5]
