The Sony α7S II (model ILCE-7SM2) is a Full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera announced by Sony on 11 September 2015.
The ability to record 4K (3840 × 2160) resolution video internally, without the need of additional equipment unlike the older α7 II variation, make it highly desirable for filmmakers.[1] In December 2016, JAXA installed a Sony α7S II on the International Space Station, capturing the first commercial 4K footage in space.[2]
