Dr. Sitasaran Sharma is speaker of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.He is a senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and is elected to assembly from Hoshangabad.

Role in politics

Dr. Sharma has been active in politics since 1990s. He was chosen as an MLA thrice earlier. He won elections against the Congress leader, Ravi Shankar Jaiswal from Itarsi constituency.He was MLA from 1993-1998, 1998-2003 and 2013 – present.

Social work

Dr. Sharma is actively involved in social work. He along with his group stated a school for Girls of underprivileged families. The girls are promoted by the school by giving annual awards such as bicycles. Recently a 12th class girl came in merit list of Madhya pradesh.[1]
