"Sissyneck" is a single by Beck, taken from the album Odelay. For the bass line of the song, the Dust Brothers sampled "A Part of Me" by the band Country Funk. The whistling in the introduction comes from "The Moog and Me" by Dick Hyman. The organ line is from "Life" by Sly & the Family Stone. The song peaked at #30 on the UK Singles Chart.
Before performing the song in concert in 1997, Beck said, "This is a song about not being afraid to be whack."[1]
He also said of the song, "It's the morning after a full night of line dancing and cocaine. It's the achey-breaky heart after the triple bypass. It's a get-together at the recreation center Ping-Pong tournament."[1]
Beck has performed the song live in concert over 180 times.[2]
