Simon Ong (born October 3, 1988) is a Canadian chess arbiter and organizer.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Ong was awarded the title of FIDE Arbiter and International Organizer by FIDE, the World Chess Federation, in 2011.[1][2] Ong was also given the title of National Tournament Director and National Tournament Organizer by the Canadian Chess Federation in 2012.[3]

In 2012, Simon Ong was one of the "Volunteer of the Year" nominees of the "Chess in the Library Program" of Canada [4]

In 2016, Ong made an appearance at the Boston Marathon and finished with a net time of 3:29:04 [5][6] Ong also competes in various long-distance road races.

On June 10, 2018, Ong was the fastest Canadian and eighth overall at the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon Half-Marathon, qualifying for the TCS New York City Marathon, with a net time of 1:18:11 [7][8][9][10]
