Simon Knox (born 14 October 1972) is a former professional rugby league footballer of the 1990s and 2000s, and coach. He played at representative level for Scotland, and at club level for Hensingham ARLFC (in Hensingham, Whitehaven),[2] Carlisle, Bradford Northern, Salford, Workington Town, Halifax, Widnes, Leigh (two spells), Swinton, and Barrow, as a prop, or second-row, and coached at club level for Blackpool, and Leigh (Under-21s).

Career

Born in Whitehaven, Cumberland, Knox joined Carlisle from amateur club Hensingham in 1991. He spent four seasons at the club before joining Bradford Northern in 1995.[3]

Knox played for Bradford at loose forward in their 1996 Challenge Cup Final loss to St Helens.[4]

Knox won 3 caps (plus 1 as substitute) for Scotland in 1998–2003 while at Bradford and Swinton.[5]
