Sri Ramanjaneya Yuddham (English: War between Lord Rama & Lord Hanuman) is a 1975 Telugu Mythological film, produced by Potluri Venkata Narayana and SBK Uma Maheswara Rao under the Lakshmi Narayana Pictures banner and directed by Bapu. It stars N. T. Rama Rao and B. Saroja Devi in the lead roles, with music composed by K. V. Mahadevan.

Plot

This Hindu mythological movie is based on Lord Anjaneya's devotion towards Lord Rama and who goes against him without his knowledge. The story begins with Lord Rama's (N. T. Rama Rao) crowning ceremony at Ayodhya after destroying Ravana. Anjaneya (Arja Janardhan Rao) could not get separated from Rama to leave for Kishkindha after the celebrations. Lord Siva (P. J. Sarma) praises Anjaneya’s devotion towards Srirama. But Goddess Parvathi (Rajasri) says that Power is the vital force that runs nature, which is greater than the Devotion and here Siva & Parvathi bet over it. Kaasi King Yayati (Dhulipala) could not attend the crowning ceremony, but Rama comes in a dream of Yayati and praises his devotion. Parvathi wants to test Yayati to win her bet. So, she sends Maya to the Kaasi kingdom to prove that power is greater than devotion. Maya could not enter the palace of Yayati because of the chantings of Srirama. She sends wild animals into the Kaasi Kingdom. Yayati kills those wild animals and shoots a weapon at Maya. Frightened, Maya turns into Matangakanya, enters Sapta Rushi Ashram and asks for a pardon of Maharshi Viswamitra (Mukkamala) and he gives it. But by that time, the weapon enters the Ashram and kills her. Vishwamitra becomes angry when he is about to curse Yayati. Sage Narada (Kanta Rao) prevents it and sends away Yayati. Narada tells Vishwamitra that the culprit should be punished by the emperor, so he asks him to go to Rama. Vishwamitra reaches Ayodhya and orders Rama to give the death sentence to Yayati. Rama sends Bharata (Sridhar) to bring Yayati. Yayati obeys his order and moves towards Ayodhya. Shantimati (Jayanthi), wife of Yayati along with children also starts to Ayodhya to plead to Seeta (B. Saroja Devi) to save her husband.

Now Parvathi feels prouder than Lord Siva as she proved Power is stronger than Devotion. But Siva creates natural calamities in which Yayati, Bharata and Shantimati get separated. In those hurricane winds, Yayati lands up at Anjanadevi Ashram (Hemalatha) and faints before her. She gives him the blessing of full-fledged life. But he replies that his destiny is different then she calls her son Anjaneya and he takes a vow on Rama that he will keep up his mother's word by rescuing Yayati. He becomes depressed knowing that he has to fight against Rama. But decides not to leave his vow. Lord Siva rescues Shantimati and leaves her at Ayodhya. The children were taken care of by Sage Vasista. Angada goes to Rama as an emissary on behalf of Anjaneya to excuse Yayati. But Rama says that unless he releases Yayati and asks for pardon they have to face the consequences. Meanwhile, Narada & Sankara tell Anjaneya if he cannot fulfill his vow people will blame Lord Srirama. So, he gets ready for war. When Rama also starts, Seeta, Shantimati and her children pray to him but he does not listen and moves to the battlefield. In the battle field, Rama and Anjaneya encounter each other. After some arguments, Rama uses his weapon Ramabanam and Anjaneya uses his devotional chanting Srirama Namam as a weapon. Both of them collide with each other and then a huge universal destruction occurs. Meanwhile, Shantimati seriously prays to Goddess Parvathi, to which she melts and understands that devotion is greater than power. Lord Siva and Parvathi appear, stop the war and say that this entire thing is an illusion created to prove the Power of Devotion. Viswamitra forgives Yayati. Finally, Lord Siva says that Srirama's chanting and Srirama's arrow always revolve around this universe; one will protect the good and another will destroy the bad.
